Japanese Macaques
At Joshin-Etsu Kogen National Park. The water is hot and the monkeys come down to bathe and groom.
It is a harsh environment when snow covers the ground for a third of the year. The Macaques have live in a highly structured society, they form close relationships with each other. Each of them perform specific roles within their group. |

Single tree taken against snow. The levels of snow were fantastic but Mike experienced a variety of light conditions and had to wait to get this shot.

Mike's Garden!
Mike's passion for bird photography is evident. The process sometimes starts by attracting the bird to the garden in the first instance. Mike then works to capture the image he has previsualised.

Red Squirrel

Mike had previsualised this image and set up the scene to attract this red squirrel to the location. The moss was carefully placed and regularly watered, and a nut located within!
